Born in Mansfield, Ohio and raised in Lost Creek, KY, Steve was second of seven children born to a Brethren pastor's home. He grew up on the campus of a mission school, Riverside Christian Training School, in the mountains of Eastern KY. He graduated high school in KY, attended Lee's Jr. College in KY, and graduated from Antietam Bible College in Hagerstown, MD. Steve married Pam (Angle) Barnett in June of 1977. They have one wonderful daughter, Stephanie Nicole, who loves Bible Quiz and youth group.

Steve was saved at the age of 12 and traveled and sang with his father who held revival services all over the country. Steve & Pam served as youth leaders for 3 years in Hagerstown, MD and then Steve was employed for 24 years by Franklin County Government. He retired in January, 2011 and began visiting with Pastor Wiley. He has received his licensing through the Assemblies of God and is blessed now to be on staff. He loves singing on the worship and praise team and organizing the men's breakfast fellowship.

Steve's interests are singing, spending time with family & friends (Pam calls him Mr. Fellowship), cheering on the Redskins and KY Wildcats, swimming, working out at the gym, and spending time outdoors. He and Pam also enjoy facilitating a Life Group in their home.

"I am amazed at how the Lord has brought our family to Christian Life. We felt loved and accepted from the very first time we stepped into this church and we love this body of believers. I praise God for His mercy, grace, and leading in my life. As I look back over past events in my life I see how God's hand has been preparing me for such a time as this. My favorite Bible verses are Proverbs 3:5 & 6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. I feel privileged to be a part of what God is continuing to do here at Christian Life."
