Born in West Virginia and raised in New England in an Assembly of God pastors home. Graduated High school in Caribou Maine and spent time at Salem State College on a Track Scholarship and then worked as a Dental Technician for several years until surrendering to the call of God on His life and went to Baton Rouge Louisiana to attend Jimmy Swaggart Bible College. He is married to his bride of 27 years as of September 2008 Debbie (Ury) Pickens who he met in High School. Together they have three wonderful children (Joseph, Alissa, Joshua) who are all serving the Lord and pursuing His call on their life.
Joe and Debbie have served in ministry in Caribou Maine, Northern New England District for three years where he received his ordination, and then nine years in Newport Pa. and as of June 2008 seven years at his present position as Senior Pastor at this ever growing and exciting Christian Life Church.
His interests are singing gospel music (He recorded a project “To Be Used of God” and wrote a song “Look Into Their Eyes”) He enjoys playing paintball, as well as hitting the gym for a workout.
